The Southeast Florida local NANN Chapter SEFANN was established in January 1994 and is a local leader in neonatal nursing education and community service. South Florida neonatal nursing professionals join SEFANN to keep up to date with the latest developments in the field as well as to enjoy networking with the community of Neonatal nurses from Dade, Broward and the Southeast Florida area.
Longtime and founding member Pat Wilson passed away this September. We have all missed Pat since her retirement from SEFANN in 2018. She brought a wonderful positive spirit to all of our meetings and events. We all have such great memories of our times together.
Over the years, Pat served as SEFANN president, the emcee for our annual conference and the Chairperson for our SEFANN Community outreach committee. She was our liason to the March of Dimes and coordinated our volunteers to the Signature Chefs Event.
Pat was always kind and supportive of new volunteers at SEFANN. She took a special interest in our animal friends during the March of Dimes walks, providing water for the thirsty pups.
Pat also volunteered for the American Red Cross and deployed to so many areas in need after natural disasters.
We are all grateful for our with Pat friendship and that we had such fun times together.
We remember Pat so fondly and with a smile.
The SEFANN Board will meet in October to plan our return to in person meetings. We look forward to hosting an educational dinner meeting soon before the end of the year.
We discussed hosting a virtual Hot Topics Neonatal Nursing conference but we were unable to make it happen this year.
We look forward to meeting and learning together soon and hope that our community infection numbers continue to decrease in the coming weeks.
We will keep everyone updated on SEFANN news and activities as plans develop.

The Southeast Florida Chapter of NANN, SEFANN meets every other month at 6:00 PM in one of the South Florida area hospitals and local restaurants. We alternate between Dade and Broward counties to make it easier for everyone to attend. One CEU credit is awarded to members for attending these dinner/lecture meetings.
There is a possibility of virtual meetings in the near future.
